What You’re Risking
Learn about what you could potentially lose by voting for union representation. Your rights, voice, money, and benefits all become part of the negotiation process when unions are involved.
Your Benefits
Your Benefits
If the Union were voted in at DHL Supply Chain, your wage and benefit package would be subject to negotiations. While we would negotiate in good faith, contrary to what the Union may be telling you, there is no guarantee you will necessarily get more or better wages or benefits.
And remember, you may have to calculate dues into that equation. If, after negotiations, you end up with the same as what you have now, if you have to pay dues or fees, you really end up with less.
Your Money
Your Money
A union is a business with only one major source of revenue: the dues, other fees, special assessments and fines they charge their members. Paying union dues or fees is typically an unavoidable fact. The Teamsters will want to get its cut of your paycheck and is free to do what it wants with those funds without your approval.
Here are some facts about fees and union dues, according to the international union constitution and local 20 financial document:
Your Rights

You have rights when dealing with unions. Make sure you know them. You could lose many of your rights under union representation.
Your Voice
Your Voice
Our culture thrives on your active engagement and opinions.
DHL Supply Chain has always valued associate views on the things that make this company a great place to work. Having a union in the middle of that dialogue would change the way we communicate with each other today.
We always prefer to listen to you—not a stranger or middleman who’s taking a portion of your pay as union dues.
